Rehana Allidina
Rehana Allidina (AMBA) died suddenly in a tragic accident in Calgary on Aug. 12, 2009. Born in Calgary, Rehana attended West Island College and the University of Calgary (BCom). She proudly attended Convocation in May 2009 to receive her Queen’s MBA, and was focused on her career in Calgary’s oil and gas strategy/procurement field, most recently with Encana. She is survived by her parents, Shahida and Sheeraz Allidina, husband Rahim Kanji, and brother Faheem (Jabeen) Allidina of Calgary. To convey condolences to the family, Rehana’s classmates were inspired by her indomitable spirit to pay tribute to her memory. As they explained in an online tribute: “When we first met Rehana, we found a lively, energetic individual with a passion for life. … She also had a great passion for athletics… (and) was always the first to sign up to participate in any activities offered through the Queen’s on-campus sports program. Rehana was also very involved in the community, which was reflected in her relentless kindness and generosity. … In order to ensure that the memory of her incredible energy and spirit lives on, (her classmates donated) $3,100 towards the South Calgary Women’s Ringette Association.”
