John Paul de Silva, MBA, is leading the marketing efforts at the non-profit tech startup Hopeful Inc. The firm has raised $400,000 in pre-seed funding and was recently accepted into Berkeley University’s SkyDeck accelerator program. Perry Doody, EMBA’10, shares that compensation management solution provider CompTrak, which he co-founded with Lasse Silegren, EMBA’10, has been acquired and added to the product suite of HRSoft, the global leader for cloud-based compensation lifecycle management software. “Lasse and I met through the EMBA program, and what a journey it has been!” Perry writes.

Jill Duncan, BCom, and her husband, Warren Duncan, BCom’12, welcomed twins Ford and Oliver, born 10 minutes apart, on Feb. 25. “We’re adjusting to a family of four (five with our fur baby!). It’s chaotic at times, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!” writes Jill, who works in asset management at Starlight Investments. Warren is the CFO of Filament Health.

Leslie Dunning, EMBA, the former director general for Western Canada with the Canadian Red Cross, has been elected president of Golf Canada. She has volunteered in golf for more than 20 years. One of the themes for her presidency is "inclusion" and making golf more accessible to anyone who wants to play. She lives in Calgary with her husband, Neill, where she says they enjoy being grandparents. Summers are spent in Muskoka in Ontario, where family fun, swimming, bridge and, of course, golf are among the Dunnings favourite pastimes. Leslie’s daughter, Logan Dunning, MBA’08, is also a Smith grad.

Leslie Dunning (EMBA) is retiring from the Canadian Red Cross in June, after a 36-year career. She plans to take the summer off before considering an interim leadership position, project work, and possibly another board directorship, in addition to her current role on the board of Golf Canada.
