Meena Rajput, MBA, got married in July. “It was a beautiful outdoor ceremony held only two days after Ontario opened up into Phase 3 of COVID restrictions,” she writes, adding that some of her fellow alumni from the class of 2012 were in attendance. Meena and her husband also recently moved into a home in Mississauga, Ont. She works in consulting while pursuing a holistic-nutrition certification.
Kelsey Roberts, BCom’12, and Jacob Martin, BCom’12, were married Feb. 20 in Toronto with many Queen’s graduates in attendance, including 25 former classmates.
Thomas (Tom) Rutherford, EMBA, died on August 2 at age 62 of cancer. Tom grew up, in Ottawa and had a long career in banking, working at Canada Trust, Canada Permanent, and Royal Trust. He was proud of returning to school for his EMBA at Smith. In 2013, he moved to Vancouver. He is survived by his sister, Jane, and brother, Kelly, as well as nephews and nieces.
Beau Sackey, AMBA, has written Come and Thrive, a book to help newcomers to Canada and young people find work and start their careers. Beau says he was inspired to write it while teaching at Seneca College. There, he often found himself helping students (including many immigrants) improve job-search and job-interview skills. “Assisting my students this way got me thinking about how I could impact more people in an effective way,” he says. The book is available at comeandthrive.ca and Amazon.
