Jake Dancyger

Jake Dancyger, BCom’15, and Cyrus Symoom, BCom’15, were recognized on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for social impact. They lead Vancouver-based software company Clariti, which is focused on digitizing permitting and licensing processes for state and local governments. “In the past 18 months Clariti's revenue has grown more than 50 per cent, the size of the team has doubled to 60, and it has become the trusted software of choice for some of North America's largest state and local governments,” Jake says.

He’s responsible for delivering industry visions of AI to executives, building roadmaps of priority AI-use cases and articulating concepts for AI solution development. Mathew Duffy

Mathew Duffy, MMA’15, tells us he recently left a chief digital officer role to co-found a data analytics, engineering and cloud services firm called Data Elephant. The company works with organizations of all sizes to mature their analytics and data-driven decision-making capabilities. “My MMA career opportunities and network were foundational to my success in starting my own business in Canada,” he writes.

Mathew Duffy, MMA, reports  that he recently joined Hitachi Solutions to lead the data and analytics consulting practice for Canada. He is responsible for bringing the best data engineering, business intelligence, machine learning and analytics strategy capabilities to his clients.

Johnny Chen and Wenting Gao
Johnny Chen and Wenting Gao, both MIB, welcomed their daughter Scarlett in the fall of 2016. Chen and Gao were married in Goodes Hall in April 2016.

Johnny Chen and Wenting Gao, both MIB, were married in an intimate ceremony at Goodes Hall on April 30, followed by a second ceremony in Xi’an, China, in May. The pair, who met during their time at Smith, currently lives in the Napanee area.

Karishma Gupta, MBA’15, got married on Feb. 9 at the small hill station of Lonavala in India. Karishma is living in Mumbai and works as the vice-president of strategy at communications agency Ogilvy Mumbai.

John Hui, EMBAA’15, tells us he was selected by Alumni Spotlight as a Top 100 Entrepreneur in 2022. John is the CEO and co-founder of Twiage, a company that provides novel communication technology to improve efficiency across critical and non-critical care providers. He is also founder of Rendr, an integrated multi-specialty Chinese physician group dedicated to serving the medically underserved Asian patient population in New York City.
