Jamie Leong-Huxley (EMBA) was appointed Fellow of the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) and honoured at the annual College of Fellows Luncheon in Banff in May. Since 2000, the College has recognized CPRS members who are proven leaders in their communities and within the public-relations and communications profession. There are currently 92 members in the College of Fellows, including this year’s inductees, and 20 Honorary Fellows.

Jason D. Lewis, EMBA, senior vicepresident of business development for Rapid Dose Therapeutics, tells us that the Burlington, Ont.-based company has gone public on the Canadian Securities Exchange. RDT’s technology, QuickStrip, is an oral, fast-dissolving drug delivery system for the cannabis, nutraceutical and pharmaceutical markets. “Every time you enjoy a QuickStrip, thank Queen’s EMBA for providing the education that made this all possible,” he writes.

Jason Lewis (EMBA) lives in Guelph with his wife Paula Power and three wonderful girls, Madeline (12), Lauren (8), and Hillary (5). He has leveraged his Queen’s EMBA experience to build PharmaComm, a unique communications agency that specializes in the healthcare industry. Founded in 2002, the company has grown into a leader in e-communications and developer of novel strategies to give clients sustainable competitive advantages.

Spencer Massie (EMBA) has been taking a sabbatical from the corporate world to work on his “retirement business,” Clos du Soleil Winery in the lovely Similkameen Valley of BC. The winery offers Bordeaux-style reds and whites; its 2008 Signature (red) recently took home a bronze at the Canadian Wine awards. “Lots of time and effort involved,” reports Spencer, “but I sure am having fun making wine. Cheers!”

Jacques Neatby, EMBA’99, Artsci’88, is a partner at MindLab, a consultancy that specializes in supporting executive teams with their strategic alignment issues. Jacques, who lives in Montreal, also teaches executive team best practices at business schools. In Leadership Team Alignment: From Conflict to Collaboration, he and INSEAD associate professor Frédéric Godart offer a strategy to build and manage top executive teams, plus tools to identify leadership misalignment.
