Join us for Spring Engage 2026
Smith School of Business is bringing together alumni, industry leaders, and prospective students for a series of special events in Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver and Calgary. Join us to reconnect with classmates and colleagues, expand your professional network, and experience the strength of the Smith community in your city.
Sponsored by our partners at Deloitte, each event features networking over light refreshments followed by a dynamic panel discussion on How to Improve Your Mental Health to Avoid Burnout & Lead More Effectively with Professor Julian Barling, a Deloitte leader, and a local Smith alum. Drawing on insights from Julian’s latest book, The Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Workbook for Leaders, the conversation will explore the often-overlooked psychological demands of leadership. The panel will discuss why leader well‑being matters, how pressure and ambiguity shape decision‑making, and which practical tools leaders can use to sustain performance without burning out.
Whether you are a seasoned executive or early in your leadership journey, you’ll gain meaningful, actionable strategies to help you show up as your best self, even under intense pressure.
