Going Green
The expansion will conform to the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) “green” building rating system. To achieve LEED certification, the expansion incorporates a number of design elements and initiatives that promote sustainability and reduce energy use, such as:
- A “green” roof
- Water-saving plumbing fixtures
- High-efficiency light fixtures and mechanical equipment
- Greenguard™-certified furniture
- A “green” cleaning program
- Bicycle storage and showering facilities
