Sharon Bain (EMBA) has recently retired and reports that she couldn’t be happier. Her Team Winnipeg EMBA classmates helped her plan her early retirement, thanks to a financial plan they developed as one of their group assignments. She now has time to spend with her family and is also actively involved in promoting financial literacy through the CPA Canada Financial Decisions Matter Program, targeted at middle income Canadians. Court Carruthers
Court Carruthers, EMBA’05, tells us he recently completed his doctorate in business administration at Pepperdine Graziadio Business School. Court is the CEO of global packing company TricorBraun and has been living in the northern Chicago suburbs with his wife, Kirstin, and their teenage boys for the last 10 years. “Thankfully they are still fans of the Oilers and Leafs respectively!” he writes.

Peter Carter (BCom) has been appointed Vice President, Engineering, at Riverstone Resources, a mining company headquartered in Vancouver, BC.

Philippe Champagne (BCom) is the President of Multi-Glass Insulation, a role he’s held for more than three years. The company is a distributor of building materials. He is also a member of the Montreal chapter of the prestigious Young Presidents’ Organization. In 2013, he married a fellow Queen’s grad, Shannon Miner (Artsci’06), and the couple is expecting its firstborn in August.

Karen Cole, EMBA’05, Artsci’85, discovered a new hobby after she moved to Halifax just before the pandemic: familiarizing herself with her new city and province of Nova Scotia. “I have enjoyed spending my free time searching for sea glass, walking the many beaches, golfing and taking in the sights and sounds of this beautiful province with my little teacup poodle, Redford.”
