Ronald Robinson, EMBA’97, died on Oct. 10, 2023 in British Columbia following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 71 years old. Ron spent his career in engineering, working on some of the largest projects in Alberta, British Columbia and the Yukon with Fedderson Engineering Ltd. and Bridgeworks Inc. The latter part of his career was spent providing consulting and dispute mitigation services. Ron loved music, sports, the outdoors and spending time in Hawaii. He is survived by his wife, daughter and stepdaughter.

Craig Rosario
Craig Rosario, BCom, married Robert Peterson on March 12 in Rancho Mirage, CA. Craig and Robert live in Victoria, B.C., with their dogs Brandy and Lily. Wade Rose, EMBA, Lt-Col. (ret.), CD, died suddenly in July 2016, aged 59. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Shirley; daughters Sara (Cameron); and Amy (Matthew); his six sisters, two brothers, and extended family.

Gregory Skotnicki (MBAst) began working with Manderley Turf Products in their golf division after some time off in 2006. Greg managed to lower his handicap enough for them to offer him the job of President. Now he doesn’t have time to golf.

Andrew Stranz (BCom) and his wife Pam are overjoyed to welcome Beth Claire Stranz, born Dec. 17, 2013, weighing 7 lbs., 9 oz. Andrew reports that she’s a great sleeper, and has a smile to melt the coldest of hearts. “Daddy will be putty in her hands for years to come,” he says.

Mary Ann Turcke, MBA, BSc(Eng)’88, was promoted to chief operating officer of the National Football League in March. This makes her the highest-ranking woman in the league’s office. She joined the NFL in early 2017 as president of digital media and the NFL Network. Prior to this, she was president of Bell Media. Mary Ann is a member of the Smith School of Business Advisory Board.

Aisha Umar, EMBA, died on Nov. 23, 2019, in Toronto after a battle with cancer. She is survived by her daughter, Yasmin, and parents, Kishwar and Pervez. After immigrating with her family to Canada at the age of three, Aisha lived in Montreal, Calgary and Toronto. Aisha spent her career as a technology executive, at IBM, Microsoft, AT&T and D2L. Aisha will be remembered for her zest for life and the encouragement and support she provided to those around her.

Eric Wong (BCom) decided in July 2012 to accept a position with a software company in order to return to the Toronto area after having spent nearly six years in Asia. He and his wife Shalyn are now living in Oakville and look forward to reconnecting with many Queen’s alumni.

Daniel Wong (BCom, MIR’98, LLB’01) and Linda Lam (MIR’98, LLB'01), along with daughter Sydney (2), welcomed Alexis Wei-Chi Wong on Feb.15. They live in Toronto, where Dan practises employment law with Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP and Linda practises corporate law with Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.

Kent Campbell (MBA) was named one of Canada’s ‘Top 40 Under 40’™ for 2009. This national program established by Caldwell Partners International celebrates the achievements of 40 Canadians in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors who have reached a significant level of success before the age of 40. Kent is currently the Deputy Minister of Energy and Resources with the Government of Saskatchewan. He and his wife, Janice Stokes, live in Regina and are expecting their first child in December.
