Phoebe Fung, EMBA, is in the process of building a Vin Room at the new International Terminal at the Calgary International Airport. Vin Room is Canada's largest wine bar, with more than 100 wines by the glass. In 2016, Calgary will be home to three locations, as well as VR Wine, a boutique wine store.

Phoebe Fung

Phoebe Fung, EMBA, reports that her latest wine bar, Vin Room YYC Airport, was named Wine Bar of the Year at the 2019 Global Food and Beverage Awards. Vin Room is one of the few independent operators in a Canadian airport and was started by Phoebe in 2008. She has three locations in Calgary.

Peter Graham, BCom’00, is living in Vancouver and has started his own consulting practice, InformedESG, where he works with stakeholders in the financial community to provide independent, easy-to-understand guidance on responsible investing.

David Howe, EMBA, died on March 15 at the age of 62. David worked as a facility and project co-ordinator for the Canadian Nuclear Laboratories in Chalk River, Ont., and previously as an architectural technologist with the federal government. He was also a 25-year volunteer with the Canadian Ski Patrol. David is survived by his wife, Debbie, and children Rebecca and Samantha.

Carrie Truman (BCom) and Ben Keys (Arts/PHE’00) are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Natalie Violet Keys. Natalie was born at North York General Hospital on Jan. 8, weighing in at 7 lbs., 11 oz. Ben and Carrie were married May 28, 2005, in Peterborough. They live in Thornhill, ON, and work in Toronto, where Carrie is a Public Relations Manager at Procter & Gamble and Ben is Director, Content Distribution, at CTV.

Caroline (Gibbings) Mandell (BCom) and her husband Ben welcomed their third daughter, Emily Sonia, on March 10. Emily’s big sisters are showing her a lot of affection and she is surprisingly tolerant of them, reports Caroline.

Jeremy W. Okolisan, MBA, is now Senior Vice President of Business Development and Strategy for SNC-Lavalin’s Mining & Metallurgy Business Unit. With 50 direct reports across the globe and frequent travel to M&M offices worldwide, Jeremy has racked up nearly 100,000 travel miles since taking on the role in May.Â
