The Centre invites you to attend a Brown Bag Lunch entitled “Corporate Philanthropic Responses to Natural Disaster: Assessing the Business and Moral Rationales”
Featuring: Derin Kent, Doctoral Candidate in Management, QSB
“Standards for disaster philanthropy are increasingly well-defined in the private sector. Global corporations now regularly provide cash, goods, and services towards relief efforts, making a substantial proportion of the total resources available following events such as Hurricane Katrina and the 2004 South Asian Tsunami. Corporations are also beginning to see disaster philanthropy as a tool for reputation management and boosting employee morale.”
Join the Centre and Derin Kent as he leads us considering three questions: How is the private sector engaging in disaster philanthropy today? Is there a business case for disaster philanthropy? Is there a moral one? Let’s see where the conversation takes us!
Date: Tuesday, February 25th, 2014
