Tyler Hennick, BCom, has joined the Agricultural Transformation Agency in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, as a Project Leader on a one-year contract.

Armen Kurdian, EMBAA, is a Captain in the U.S. Navy, and the Director of Engineering and Product Support at Naval Supply Systems Command, Weapon Systems Support. A major project is the development of a comprehensive contracting guide for additive manufacturing (AM) for the navy and Marine Corps. Armen is also co-founder of Prosiren Inc., which he launched with some of his classmates. Prosiren is a technicalapparel brand.

Rajesh Lakshmanan, MBA, and his wife Pradeepa welcomed Deeraj, a brother for their four-year-old daughter Deeksha, in November 2016. The family continues to reside in Toronto.

Lulu Liang, BCom, is now CEO of Girlboss, a multimedia company that creates content for women. “I’m thrilled to be leading Girlboss’s mission to help ambitious women achieve their own definition of success,” she says. Lulu was previously CEO of the global beauty brand Luxy Hair. She was on the cover of the fall 2020 issue of Smith Magazine.

Chen Liu, PhD, was appointed director of the MBA programs at Trinity Western University in Langley, B.C., in November. She joined the faculty six years ago, after earning her doctorate in finance at Smith. She was promoted to tenured associate professor in 2019. At TWU, students voted her Professor of the Year for three years in a row, from 2016 to 2018.

Shannon Loughrey
Shannon Loughrey, BCom’14, and Ryan Abrams, Artsci’14, MSc’16, got married in Prince Edward County last fall, 10 years after they first met at Queen’s. Many of their university friends and classmates were present, including Lianne Girard, Bcom’14; Amy Hoffman, BCom’14; Jordan Rouse, Artsci’14, MSc’16; Katie Rouse (LaFreniere), BSc(Eng)’15; Jeryes Fares, Artsci’14; Kent Williams, Mus’14, Law’18; and Jessica Williams (Jonker), Mus’14, Ed’15.

Jessica Lui, BCom, was the recipient of the Vision Builder Award in the Universal Women’s Network’s 2020 Women of Inspiration Awards, announced in November. A management consultant at Deloitte, Jessica is also founder and CEO of GPP, a social enterprise dedicated to at-risk young adults pursuing STEM careers, recognized at President Obama’s Global Entrepreneurship Summit.

Jessica Lui, BCom, was named to Corporate Knights’ Top 30 Under 30 in Sustainability. Jessica is a management consultant at Deloitte and founder of Global Professionals Practicum, a youth-led social enterprise dedicated to developing young adults pursuing STEM careers in underserved communities. Additionally, Jessica is a member of Venture for Canada’s advisory board and a member of the UN International Youth Council and UN Women.

Jessica Lui, BCom, has accepted a consulting position at Deloitte in Toronto after having spent much of the past year involved in United Nations initiatives and working as a strategy consultant at Global Professionals Practicum, a professional coaching firm. In July, Jessica attended the annual UN Youth Assembly in New York as a Canadian Representative. She was one of 600 invited international delegates and reported on her experience in The Huffington Post.
