ComSoc Conference features Canadian fashion icon Linda Lundström

Queen’s Business Forum on the Fashion Industry (Q’BFFI) held its 7th annual conference Oct. 27 to 29 with the theme, “Fashion Undressed: The Business Behind the Garments.” Featured speakers included Lindsay Cook (Senior Marketing Director at Joe Fresh), Donna Bishop (CEO of Green Beauty), Nancy Sahota and Jan Gandhi (Founders of the Peacock Parade), Jen McNeely (creator of the blog ‘SheDoesTheCity’), Dimitar Popovski (Founder of DDN Media and designer of the apps Stylish Girl and Cool Guy) and Linda Lundström (fashion designer and founder of Linda Lundström Works).

Prof. James McKeen and alum Kalyan Chakravarthy honoured by IT industry

The 2011 ComputerWorld Canada IT Leadership Award recipients were celebrated on Oct. 26 in Toronto. Professor and Distinguished Faculty Fellow in Management Information Systems James McKeen was named IT Educator of the Year, while MBA’07 alum Kalyan Chakravarthy took top honours as IT Manager of the Year for Small and Medium-sized enterprises.
