KINGSTON, ON – MBA students studying international business honed their analytical skills and predictive powers by assessing which emerging market countries are the likeliest to acquire Canadian companies within the next five years. A full-day competition on September 11 at Goodes Hall in Kingston, featured presentations by the student teams before panels of judges as part of their International Business course requirements.

KINGSTON, ON – Queen’s School of Business Managerial Economics Professor Olena Ivus was one of two winners of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Essay Award for Young Economists announced today. Co-winner Dave Donaldson is an Assistant Professor in the Economics Department of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

KINGSTON, ON – Commerce students returned to campus for the first week of classes after a successful Frosh Week welcomed incoming first-year students. Student-run orientation activities were held for the 375 members of the Class of 2014 with student Bosses leading the festivities. Some of these activities included the Cross-Campus Challenge with students exploring the campus, answering trivia questions and performing tasks on the way; and the Comm Down Info Session which featured a series of presentations on such topics as where to do laundry and how to work in teams.
