Kingston – Jan. 29, 2013 A riff on the popular ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ slogan resonated with incoming international exchange students during the fall term. Two of their members designed t-shirts with a local twist (‘Keep Calm and Kingst On’) and sold them to classmates from around the world who were studying at QSB.

Juan Eduardo Rogers Alcade, (at left) a student from Pontificia Universidade Catolica de Chile, and Darius Affolter, (at right) from the University of Zurich, designed and sold the t-shirts – 233 in all. A Facebook poll of their classmates on how to spend the proceeds resulted in a $150 donation to The Giving Tree, a program in Northumberland County that benefited children in need at Christmas. The program was selected as a group project in Prof. John Phelan’s Leadership class.
