Posted on April 29, 2010

Neil Pasricha’s “Book of Awesome” has been generating a lot of media coverage, with features in the Toronto Star (April 14), Globe and Mail (April 26) and USA Today (April 22), not to mention China Daily (April 19).
It all began with a blog, 1000Awesomethings.com, that he started in 2008. A “time-ticking countdown of 1000 awesome things,” it’s updated every weekday and includes such gems as “When your fries order has a few onion rings stashed in the mix” (#524), and “When a baby falls asleep on you (#520).
The blog has become an internet phenomenon: nearly 14,000,000 hits since inception, recipient of two Webby awards (the Oscars of the Internet), and links from such media heavyweights as CNN and Wired.
For those who prefer to curl up with a print version, The Book of Awesome: Snowy Days, Bakery Air, Finding Money in Your Pocket and Other Simple Brilliant Things (AEB Putnam), was launched in mid-April.
