QSB celebrates Spring Convocation 2008

Kingston, ON, May 29 & 30, 2008 ─ Hundreds of proud graduates were awarded a degree from Queen’s School of Business at Spring Convocation held at historic Grant Hall on May 29 & 30.

Both ceremonies included close to 600 graduates from the School’s Commerce, full-time MBA, Executive MBA, Cornell-Queen’s Executive MBA and Accelerated MBA for Business Graduates programs. Dean David Saunders, program faculty and staff were on-hand to confer degrees.

Graduates had the privilege of hearing Convocation addresses from several distinguished guests.

• Commerce (May 29) – Honorary Graduands Galen Weston, LL.D., Chairman and President of George Weston Limited and Hilary Weston, LL.D., former Lieutenant Governor of Ontario
• Executive MBA and Cornell-Queen’s Executive MBA classes (May 30 a.m.) – Jerry del Missier (BSc’85, MBA’87, Queen’s University), President of Barclays Capital
• Full-time MBA and Accelerated MBA for Business Graduates (May 30 p.m.) – Jim Leech (MBA’73, Queen’s University), President and CEO of the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan.

Post ceremony celebrations were held at Grant Hall and Goodes Hall, home to the School of Business, where family, friends and graduates celebrated and bid fond farewell to faculty, staff and classmates.

Congratulations to all graduates ─ the newest members of the Queen’s School of Business alumni family.
