June 13th was a sleepless night in Ottawa for some graduates of the Queen’s Executive MBA 2008 Ottawa class. A team of 12 graduates and their friends and family participated in the Canadian Cancer Society’s 10th Annual Relay for Life. Each member walked or ran along the track at the Nepean Sportsplex for an hour covering the relay from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Their determination to help this worthy cause was inspired by one of their fellow team members who is currently fighting his own battle with cancer.

Funds raised through Relay For Life support the Canadian Cancer Society’s mission to eradicate cancer and enhance the quality of life of Canadians living with cancer. The team exceeded their fundraising goals gathering pledges of close to $10,000 and winning the award for the most funds raised by a rookie team. Congratulations to the Ottawa EMBA 2008 team for supporting their team member on this challenging journey and for their inspired fundraising efforts for the Canadian Cancer Society.
