I came to Queen’s MBA Program because ...

After six years in an engineering and management role in the forestry industry, I was looking to improve my education to move into a consulting or finance role, with an ultimate goal of becoming an entrepreneur or CEO. After speaking with many alumni from different universities, I decided the fast pace and structure of a one-year program was the most suitable for my needs to minimize my time out of the businesses world.

There were a number of opportunities that attracted me to the Smith School of Business. In order to maximize the year, I wanted as many opportunities as possible to absorb practical and hands-on learning experiences. The Queen’s Alternative Asset Fund (QUAAF) was one of these opportunities to provide practical experience in fund management.

Beyond the learning opportunities, the strength of the alumni network, as well as the team-based learning approach and coaching opportunities drew me to the Queen’s MBA. After only two months into the program, I have met many amazing people that I believe will continue to encourage and motivate me well past my time here.
