I came to the Full-time MBA at Smith School of Business because ...
of its strong sense of community and collaborative culture, which I saw as the ideal environment to grow academically and professionally. Smith also stood out to me because of the quality and accessibility of its faculty, whose expertise and engagement with students reinforced my decision. When it came to choosing an MBA program, I searched for one that would allow me to integrate my background in chemistry and wealth management, as I am driven by work at the intersection of science, strategy and healthcare, particularly in areas related to longevity and healthy lifespan. This is a space where scientific advancement directly influences how healthcare systems, pharmaceutical companies and investors allocate resources. The program’s emphasis on teamwork and applied learning makes it a practical place to develop the strategic and leadership skills needed to operate effectively in this evolving field.
If I could go back one year, I would tell myself and other applicants to engage earlier with alumni and student leaders and to view the Smith community as a strategic asset. While the program opens many doors, realizing its full value requires actively stepping through them by building relationships and exploring opportunities beyond the classroom. The best experiences are often outside your comfort zone, and embracing that space is essential to maximizing your MBA and your time here in Kingston. By investing in connections early and contributing meaningfully to the community, you gain far more than academic knowledge - your network will shape your career outcomes as much as the curriculum itself.
Through the MBA, I aim to strengthen my strategic thinking, communication, and project leadership capabilities, and I plan to do so by drawing on the expertise and diverse accomplishments of my peers. My career goal is to work as a consultant in life sciences and healthcare, helping organizations by curating scientifically sound and commercially viable solutions. I also hope to contribute to building a stronger healthcare identity at Smith by helping position longevity as a forward-looking theme that connects science, business and patient impact.
