I came to the Full-time MBA at Smith School of Business because ...
I was looking for an experience that combined academic rigour with a strong sense of community and leadership development. In my decision-making process, I compared several programs, but Smith stood out for its team-based learning model, small cohort size and emphasis on self-awareness and personal leadership. I was drawn to how the program values who you become during the MBA, not just what you learn. Conversations with current students and alumni reinforced that Smith offers a highly engaged, supportive environment where collaboration is the norm rather than the exception.
What has appealed to me most about the Smith MBA experience is the intentional focus on leadership, reflection and experiential learning. The classroom environment encourages participation, constructive challenge and learning from peers with diverse professional and cultural backgrounds. Beyond academics, the close-knit nature of the program creates opportunities to build meaningful relationships and take on leadership roles that genuinely shape the student experience.
If I could go back and give myself advice one year ago, it would be to trust the process more and worry less about having everything figured out immediately. The MBA is as much about exploration and growth as it is about outcomes, and leaning into uncertainty has been one of the most valuable parts of the journey.
My advice to future applicants is to be intentional about fit. Talk to students, attend events and reflect on how a program’s culture aligns with your values and learning style.
Through the MBA, I aim to sharpen my strategic thinking, strengthen my leadership presence, and build a career in roles that sit at the intersection of business, innovation and impact.
