I came to the Full-time MBA at Smith School of Business because ...

I chose the Smith MBA because it is a very reputable program not just in Canada but globally too. Specifically, I wanted an intimate class environment where I would interact with all my classmates, know them by name and share perspectives about what they do and their experiences. I also really wanted the experience of studying in a diverse environment, which is quite different from what I had back home in Uganda.

If I could go back and give myself advice, I would do the graduate entry exams sooner (e.g. GMAT / GRE) to start the application process much sooner. I completed much of my documentation (e.g. study permit) late in the year, so applying sooner could have saved me a lot of anxiety.

I’m trying to get the most out of the MBA experience (as Geoff says, “squeeze the orange”), especially around networking and mapping out my career plan. My goal is to explore the Canadian technology space or the venture capital (for startups) space.
