I came to the Full-time MBA at Smith School of Business because ...

starting the MBA application process was intimidating. I did the GMAT first as I knew every school would look at those. I was able to get it out of the way early and breathe a sigh of relief.

Thus began my selection process. I considered geography, reputation, and program length. With that criteria in mind, the Smith MBA was easily a contender. What solidified my decision, though, was the personal touch I received throughout the application process. The other programs all also boasted how much they cared about their students. However, it was Smith that truly put their money where their mouth was. Even through the sea of applicants the program received, I was still treated as an individual.

If I were to do it all over again, I would have gone to as many info sessions before actually applying. I definitely could have saved some application fees by casting a narrower net.

My advice to applicants would be to talk to as many alumni outside of official recruitment events as possible, especially those whose careers mirror what you might want to pursue. Ask them to be as brutally honest as possible highlighting both the pros and the cons. You will be able to tell who is being genuine or not.

My career plan is to go into human capital consulting. Through this program, I am hoping to hone my business analytic skills to drive data-backed decisions, and my change management skills to implement these decisions.
