I came to the Full-time MBA at Smith School of Business because ...

The full-time MBA offered at the Smith School of Business was on the top of my list of programs that I wanted to apply to when I began to consider what GMAT score to aim for. Back then, I knew that to be a good candidate for the program, I would have to gather enough work experience to show that I could be a good leader, team member, and recipient of constructive feedback. I also knew that the Smith MBA valued social impact and so I got busy volunteering in my community.

Through this long-term process of molding myself into a suitable MBA applicant, I had a lot of time to reflect about what I wanted to achieve from an MBA. My self-reflection led me to understand that I needed to refine my soft skills, learn how to work well in teams, and focus on pivoting my analytical skills for use in the private sector. These were improvements that I could make through the Smith MBA and my choice to apply there was solidified through their offering of coaching services, their specialization in management analytics, and the team-based learning environment of the program.

To anyone interested in applying to the Smith MBA, consider taking the time to reflect on all the changes you wish to see in yourself after an MBA. Ask yourself if the MBA you choose will truly facilitate the conditions you need to make the changes you want to see yourself.
