I came to the Full-time MBA at Smith School of Business because ...

I believe that the future of business lies in cross collaboration, teamwork, and the combination of strengths, rather than in individualized competition. The days of individualistic success are gone, and as we enter this new decade, the organizations that are able to leverage their people in high performing teams will surpass the ones that believe in individualized approaches. The Smith MBA program embodies this approach fully, and has a very large focus on teamwork, leading team members, performing on a team (as the leader or the follower), and working effectively in a team based dynamic. Let’s face it, as soon as you graduate, you will be put onto a team at the jobs you work at – learning to work on a team is a huge key for success over your entire career.

My career goals lie in the artistic industries (entertainment, media, and music). I felt that the Smith program would be very flexible in helping me reach those goals, as the team based approach is not specific to a particular industry. By learning the foundational strengths of teamwork in business, I felt I could stand out from the crowd in the entertainment industry, where decisions are made by a purely artistic or commercial lens. So far my experience has been extremely fruitful, and I have felt myself growing and bettering myself every day.
