I came to the Full-time MBA at Smith School of Business because ...

Smith School of Business is a perfect place to start a new career in a new country.

I worked as a legislative staff member at the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea for three years. I drafted bills, audited government budgets, and inspect government works. After three years, I wanted to become better at what I do. Governments around the world needed to respond faster to the fast-changing business world. I decided to help governments work more effectively.

After my MBA experience, I would like to work as a public-sector consultant specializing in advising the government. Smith School of Business offers exactly what I need: numerous experiential learning opportunities and working collaboratively in a diverse team-based environment. This is incomparable to other business schools. Coming to Smith School of Business would be the perfect choice for those looking to change their career in Canada.

For international applicants whose first language is not English, hone your English as much as possible throughout and after the application process. A decent GMAT or TOEFL score does not guarantee that you can fully engage in English communication and actively work with other students. More fluent English will give you confidence when you are having an interview or video essay. Moreover, your Smith life will be much easier. There are plenty of opportunities to practice your language skills. In the simplest terms, international students need more time to process information in English, and time management is a top priority in the MBA. Don’t let your English skills limit your capability. You are in a supportive learning environment.
