I came to the Full-time MBA at Smith School of Business because ...

I knew that the small class size and team-based environment would complement my learning style, which is to ask a lot of questions and understand everything inside-and-out. With my engineering experience, both at school and work, I wanted to maximize the MBA and pivot into the management consulting industry. Building meaningful connections and leveraging a strong brand were requirements for my choice of program.

The best advice that I can give applicants is to reach out to the schools you are looking at and question everything presented to you. This is a big investment and an especially expensive one, so you want to make sure that not only is the school assessing you, but you are also assessing them to ensure that they’re the right school for you. To put this in practical terms: Get a feel for the customer service from the administration team. How do you feel about their responsiveness? What can you gauge about the school culture?

The level of support and love we receive as students is on par with the kind you get as an applicant. Smith is an authentic place to be, and authenticity is valued. If you are someone that performs best in a tight-knit environment and can leverage the resources available to you (career coaching, case-prep tools, auxiliary training, alumni network), then you will have a promising year and post-MBA journey at Smith.
