Welcome to the Queen’s MBA Blog

Posted By: Queen's MBA on October 12, 2017

The newly created Queen's MBA Blog will feature current students sharing their experiences in the program.

Is the Queen’s MBA any different from other programs at top-tier institutions? What is the student experience really like at Smith? Is an MBA actually worth it? Do I have what it takes to make it in the Queen’s MBA program?

You’ve likely asked yourself some, if not all, of these questions if you are considering applying, or have decided to apply to an MBA program, which is precisely why the Queen’s MBA Blog was created.

“The blog postings will be full of helpful information about the program experience at Smith School of Business,” says Geoff Coons, Associate Director of the Queen’s MBA program.

Business school websites are chalk full of useful information: program structure, specializations, faculty, admission and fees, student/alumni testimonials, available services and resources, but we believe that there is no better way to learn about a school and its programs than first-hand accounts from current students, alumni and program administrators.

"We remember the positive impact that connecting with current students had on us prior to beginning the MBA,” says Kate Uhlman, MBA class of 2018. “This year has been overwhelmingly positive for us all, and we wanted to share our first-hand experiences."

Kate and fellow students Karan Sukhija and Shaik Mahmood were the driving force behind the blog’s creation.

“Our students are the greatest program ambassadors available to you, the reader. They will write with a unique and authentic perspective about what life is really like in the Queen’s MBA program,” Geoff says.

In addition to the student voice, the Queen’s MBA Blog will feature alumni success stories, thought leadership from the school’s faculty, and tips and advice from program staff.
