Curt Walker (EMBA) was recently honoured with a fellowship by the Certified Management Accountants Society of British Columbia (CMABC). The fellowship (FCMA) designation is awarded to Certified Management Accountants in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the profession of management accounting and the community at large. Curt has had a distinguished career in the resort, hospitality, and tourism sectors and, most recently, with a First Nations community. He is currently the chief administrative officer for the Lil’wat Nation and lives in Pemberton, B.C.

Monica Butta, EMBA, has launched Heal Me Energy, a reiki practice. Following her EMBA graduation she completed two degrees in the Usui System of Natural Healing. She is now a registered practitioner with the Canadian Reiki Association. healmeenergy.com

R.L. (Rod) Prendergast, AMBA, in May released The Confessions of Socrates, his third book of historical fiction. His first novel, The Impact of a Single Event, became a national bestseller. His books are available from Chapters, Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Apple and Kobo.

Robert Mashohn, EMBA, has accepted a position as Vice President of Finance and Administration and CFO of Coast Group Holdings Inc. and Coast Storage & Containers Ltd., in the Vancouver area.

Robert (Robbie) Mitchnick, BCom, has started the MBA program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He continues to be involved with the craft beer start-up (a subsidiary of the Gananoque Brewing Company), which he created with fellow BCom’13 grads Ryan Peterson, Donald Gawel and Cord McGee. Their business story has been converted into a widely used business case at Smith and a portion of the company’s revenues has endowed a financial-needs-based scholarship for high-achieving incoming Commerce students.

Kenzie McNeil, MIB, has joined the Regional Municipality of York in the Greater Toronto Area as a Senior Budget and Policy Advisor. Previously, he worked in a Senior Finance role with Halifax Regional Municipality.

Joshua Seerattan, MIB, a self-described international adventurer, entrepreneur, investor and technological disruption enthusiast, has joined Ottawa-based investment firm and holding company Wesley Clover as an International Business Development Analyst. He is involved in the portfolio management of 40+ tech companies and the global expansion efforts of the firm, currently operating in Canada, the U.K., France and Turkey, with plans to enter other markets.
