Curt Walker, EMBA, was named Chief Administrative Officer of the First Nations Health Authority in Vancouver, B.C., in September. He joined the organization following a four-year term as CAO for Lil'wat Nation. Curt is a Certified Management Accountant and was recently awarded a fellowship by the Society of Management Accountants of Canada for his contributions to society and the advancement of professional management accounting.

Patrick Wong, AMBA, was named CFO of Toronto-based Retail Ready Foods Inc., a private, multinational that trades and distributes physical protein assets.

Joseph Edgar (CQEMBA) has started a new company, TenantCloud.com, a marketplace for tenants, landlords and service professionals that provides free renter resumés and property-management software. The company has grown substantially, and its software is now used in 25 countries.

Jennifer Robertson (PhD, MSc’09) and QSB professor Julian Barling have co-edited a new book, The Psychology of Green Organizations (Oxford University Press), which reviews leading research in different areas of environmental sustainability in organizations.

Yoanna Sayili (MSc) and her husband Koray are happy to announce the Sept. 2014 arrival of their firstborn, Michael—a happy and healthy child, Yoanna reports. They are looking forward to taking Michael on his first trip to Europe this summer to visit his grandparents, meet his cousins, and swim in the Mediterranean.

Jessica Beakbane (BCom) has started a new job with Chubb Insurance in Toronto. She was excited to be trained by a fellow Queen’s alumna, Caroline DuWors (Artsci’09). Jessica received the 2014 Queen’s Student Alumni Association Volunteer of Distinction Award in April at the QUAA Alumni Awards Gala.

Casey Burgess (CQ-EMBA) was elected mayor of Wilmer, Texas, defeating the incumbent by two votes in that city’s May 2014 general election.

Mackenzie Lovsin (BCom) is excited to announce that he has started his career at Deloitte in Vancouver. He is working toward writing the CFE and becoming a CPA.

Scott Macdonell (BCom) was selected 13th overall in the Canadian Football League draft by the Ottawa REDBLACKS and made the active roster for the team. Scott played for the Queen’s varsity football team from 2010 to 2014.

Jordan Speakman (AMBA) is now a Senior Trade and Investment Officer for Northeast Asia at Alberta’s Ministry of International and Intergovernmental Relations in Edmonton.
