The GDB program enabled me to complete MBA-level credits that I could apply to an MBA degree at Smith in the future. My goal was to find a way to bridge the gap between science and business and the GDB gave me the fundamentals to begin that journey. Smith offered a program that complimented the skills I learned in my undergrad program and also allowed me to pursue my goal of completing an MBA.
The GDB was the turning point in my career journey. Upon completion, I had gained enough fundamental knowledge to acquire an operational management role with Bell Canada, and every additional career and academic achievement evolved from there. The next stop on my journey was returning to Smith to complete the Full-time MBA program, where I studied internationally on exchange in Rotterdam. I subsequently chose to pursue a dual-degree route, graduating with an MBA and a Master’s of Management Analytics (MMA). These experiences and academic opportunities have enabled me to transition my career into management and analytics, where I currently lead a team in my role as Director, Operations Engineering & Transformation with Bond Brand Loyalty. At the root of it all, the GDB was the catalyst that made my career and life transition possible. For me, this program was the steppingstone to bigger and better things.
Jump in and do it! It is truly an invaluable experience that broadens the opportunities available to you, and it will open the door to an incredible network of both people and career opportunities. The knowledge, network, and reputation of the Smith GDB program will enable you to test your personal and professional boundaries and create a future-proof version of yourself that will allow you to achieve success for years to come.
