Curriculum

The Curriculum for the Graduate Diploma in Business consists of 8 courses, all of which are credit courses for the Queen's MBA. These courses are:

Completing Your MBA or Other Master’s Degree

Upon completion of the Queen's Graduate Diploma in Business, there are several options for earning a Queen’s MBA or other Master’s degree.

Please note that an undergraduate university degree and a B+ average in the GDB program is required for admission to our MBA or other Master's level programs. Those who complete the Graduate Diploma in Business program and wish to apply their credits to a Queen's MBA or Master's degree will be required to meet all of the admission requirements for that Master's program.

Queen's Full-time MBA

QUEEN'S FULL-TIME MBA

To apply these credits to our Full-Time MBA, you must meet the admission requirements of the Queen's MBA program. These include successfully completing the GMAT or GRE exam, and at least 2 years of relevant work experience.

Step 1 Complete the Graduate Diploma in Business (May – August)
Step 2 Complete 2 years of relevant work experience (if you have not already done so)
Step 3 Apply to the Queen’s full-time MBA program
Step 4 Upon Acceptance to the full-time MBA program, successfully complete the Business Analytics course that runs from January – March (online or at Queen’s)

Fees

For students completing their MBA under this option, the fees for completing the MBA will be the current Full-time MBA fees less the fees that were paid for the Graduate diploma in Business.

QUEEN'S ACCELERATED MBA FOR BUSINESS GRADUATES

After completing the Graduate Diploma in Business and 2 years of relevant work experience, you may choose to apply for the Queen's Accelerated MBA for Business Graduates - a program that enables you to earn a Queen's MBA in 12 months while you continue to work. This program begins in January and is available in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, Mississauga, Markham, Ottawa and Montreal.

Fees

For this option, because the program is designed for people with an undergraduate degree in business, there are no transferable credits or fee credits. However, the program can be completed while you work, in several cities across Canada, thereby eliminating the need to quit your job and lose a year’s salary.

Completing a Master’s Degree in International Business or Finance

QUEEN'S MASTER OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS

Upon completion of the Graduate Diploma in Business, graduates may immediately join the Queen's Master of International Business program, a full-time, one-year program beginning in September in Kingston.

Fees

As there are no overlapping credits with this program, there is no fee reduction.

QUEEN'S MASTER OF FINANCE – Beijing

Upon completion of the Graduate Diploma in Business, graduates may be considered for entry into the Queen's Master of Finance - Beijing program. This full-time, one-year program is offered in English in Beijing, China and begins each year in September. Students are eligible to begin their Master of Finance immediately after completing their GDB.
