Workshop Facilitator Position

Workshop Facilitator - Harnessing the Power to Influence (MDPM)

A Workshop Facilitator position is open at the Smith School of Business to facilitate the Harnessing the Power to Influence workshop in our Master of Digital Product Management (MDPM) program. This workshop will be a combination of pre-recorded content and virtual sessions to be delivered during the winter term between February 18th and 25th.


Preferred qualifications include: a Master’s degree or Ph.D., and familiarity and professional experience in facilitating similar workshops and/or teaching university courses.

The course is described as follows:

Developing advanced business communication skills are key to building and maintaining a successful career in management. This workshop will provide students with foundational knowledge pertaining to business communications generally, with a particular focus on presenting ideas more clearly and effectively regardless of the context.  It is important for professionals to learn how to communicate horizontally without authority and interact with senior staff and executives. This workshop will provide the tools to build confidence and identify the skillset required to be successful in this area.

By the end of the workshop series students will be able to:

  • More effectively leverage product management and other technical skills to achieve impact whether communicating vertically, horizontally with/without authority
  • Feel more confident in their presentation skills
  • Clearly understand their individual strengths and weaknesses as communicators and devise a personalized plan for continuous improvement
  • Develop a practical toolkit of business communication skills that can be relied on as needed

Workshop Delivery Dates and Times*:

10 – 15 hours in total.

Pre-recorded content and virtual sessions to be delivered during the winter term (exact dates TBD).


Standard faculty workshop hourly rate of $451.33
