James McKeen

Dr. James D. Mckeen, Emeritus Professor, Smith School of Business - Kingston, Ontario

Jim McKeen has been working in the IT field for many years as a practitioner, researcher, and consultant and is a frequent speaker at business and academic conferences. In 2011, he was named the “IT Educator of the Year” by ComputerWorld Canada.

Jim has taught at universities in the U.K., France, Germany, and the U.S. His research is widely published and he is the co-author (with Heather Smith) of four books on IT management. Their most recent book – IT Strategy: Issues and Practices (Pearson Prentice Hall, 2012) – was the best-selling business book in Canada (Globe and Mail, April 2012).

Heather Smith

Heather A. Smith, Senior Research Associate, Smith School of Business - Kingston, Ontario

A former senior IT manager and one of the most-published researchers on IT management, Heather Smith is the author of five IT management books. She is also a Senior Research Associate with the American Society for Information Management’s Advanced Practices Council.

In addition, she consults, presents and collaborates with organizations world-wide, including: the Information and Communications Technology Council, the Institute for Citizen-Centred Service, British Petroleum, TD Bank, Canada Post, Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales, the OPP, Boston University, the Bank of Montreal, and Farm Credit Canada.
