Charmaine Lyn

Charmaine Lyn is Director of Changemaker Education at Ashoka Canada. She works closely with Canada’s seven designated Changemaker Campuses and their change leaders to deepen and accelerate field-level transformation in Canadian post-secondary. Charmaine leads Ashoka Canada’s targeted efforts to build upon growing momentum for social innovation education in Canada’s post-secondary sector by amplifying insights and best practices developed in Changemaker Campuses and growing the network to build the field.

Charmaine draws from over 15 years’ experience advancing equity, diversity, social accountability, and decolonization as drivers of post-secondary institutional change. Prior to joining Ashoka, she was Senior Director of the Office of Community Engagement at Concordia University in Montreal, where she also served as a Special Advisor to the Provost on Indigenous Directions. She previously served as Assistant Dean of External Relations at McGill’s Faculty of Law, and as Director of Admissions, Equity & Diversity at McGill’s Faculty of Medicine. Born in Jamaica and raised in Tio’ tia:ke (Montreal), Charmaine is a first-generation university attendee who holds B.A., BCL, and LL.B./JD degrees from McGill University.
