Tanya Woods

Tanya Woods is the CEO & Chief Impact Officer of Kind Village, an award-winning online community of people, businesses, and cause organizations working together to donate time, services, and goods to meet local needs and create positive change. Tanya and her team fearlessly embrace the integration of AI, blockchain, and other technologies into Kind Village’s platform in hopes of enhancing civic engagement, philanthropy, and social impact initiatives in local communities around the world. Kind Village is currently part of the IBM i3 Accelerator Program and is the first company (and social enterprise) to graduate from Deloitte Canada’s Boost Program in the Nation’s Capital.

Tanya has had a successful career as a lawyer, policy maker, and advocate for Canada’s digital economy. In addition to running Kind Village, she is currently Algonquin College’s first Social Entrepreneur in Residence and is a strategic advisor to Kids Code Jeunesse, the Blockchain Association of Canada, and the appointed Executive Chair for the Global Entrepreneurship Network in Canada. Tanya has been recognized as a Civic Leader by the Obama Foundation, Leading Woman in Technology by the Government of Canada, Trail Blazer by the CBC, a Community Leader by Toastmasters International, and as a Top 40 Under 40, for her dedication to challenging the status quo and working to improve the wellbeing of others.

She has a BA from Ottawa University and studied law at the London School of Economics, Ottawa University, and the American University Washington College of Law. Her favourite way to spend an afternoon is on a beach learning how to surf and being humbled by the ocean over and over again!
