David Borcsok

David is the Fund Manager of the RBC Generator Fund; an early stage impact investment venture capital fund raised as part of the RBC Social Finance Initiative. Investing in early stage technology companies across Canada, the fund focuses on supporting enterprises using market-based solution to solve some of our most challenging social and environmental problems.

He is a Kauffman Fellow (Class 20) at the Centre for Venture Education in Palo Alto CA, and an Adjunct Professor at Ryerson University where he teaches entrepreneurial finance at the Yeats School of Graduate Studies. Prior to joining RBC, David worked with TrilogyGrowth L.P an early stage consumer-focused venture capital firm.

He is a member of the Advisory Boards of Venture for Canada, Wilfrid Laurier University Schlegel Centre for Entrepreneurship, and Queens University Smith School of Business Social Impact Academy. He also serves as an Advisor to MaRS Centre for Impact Investing, the Brown University Entrepreneurship Program and as a Board Director of the Ontario Farmland Trust.

David attended graduate school at Brown University, earning an MPH in Health Economics, and spent time at Harvard University Graduate School as a Visiting Graduate Scholar. During his time at Brown, David was a Cherrystone Angel Group Venture Fellow and an Ocean State Angels Venture Fellow, as well as an Advisor to the Brown University Technology Transfer and Ventures Office. He also holds an HBA from Wilfrid Laurier University. .
