Russell Evans

Russell A. Evans is currently a PhD Candidate at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario in Behavioural Accounting. His dissertation is focused on accountability relationships between Indigenous communities and the Government of Canada. He hopes to defend his these in August of 2015. His educational background includes a diploma in Electrical Engineering, a degree in Physical Education and Kinesiology, an MBA specializing in Managerial Accounting and a Master of Science in Accounting. He has 7 years of working experience in various organizations including Suncor Energy, Canada Revenue Agency, CIBC, Brock University, Stelco Inc. and Queen’s University. Russell stays involved in various accounting organizations such as the Canadian Academic Accounting Association (CAAA) and Certified Management Accountants (CMA). He is also on the Board of the Aboriginal Professional Association of Canada (APAC) and the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto (NCCT). Russell grew up in northern Ontario in a family of 14 children and spends his free time participating in community sports organizations, cooking and travelling.
