Bob Wardrop

Bob has been a Research Fellow in the Finance & Accounting group at the Cambridge Judge Business School in Cambridge, UK since 2012. His primary research interest is alternative finance, which includes instruments and channels of finance outside of the banking and capital markets system. Bob’s non-academic career spans 30 years advising and investing in small and medium-sized businesses in North America, Europe and Asia. He currently serves as a director of ABS, a Hong Kong-based satellite operator, and Clarity Health Services, a US-based health care services provider. Previously he spent 10 years as European Managing Director for the Anschutz Investment Company, the investment subsidiary of the Anschutz Corporation, which is one of the largest privately owned companies in the United States. He is an advisor to Innovate UK, the department within the UK government responsible for fostering innovation, and to the Global Innovation Campus in Überlingen, Germany. Bob has been a Visiting Lecturer at Imperial College Business School in London, and is a member of the Global Advisory Board (EMEA) for the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a member of the Advisory Board for Smith School of Business, Queen's University in Canada.

Bob holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, an MSc from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen's University. He holds dual Canadian-UK citizenship and resides in London, UK.
