EMBA 2011 Graduating Class Gift Supports QSB Centre for Responsible Leadership

Posted on June 07, 2011

Thank you to the Queen’s Executive MBA Class of 2011 for designating the Centre for Responsible Leadership as the recipient of their graduating class gift.  Class Presidents Lisa LaRochelle (Ottawa EMBA) and Randy Carter (National EMBA) presented Dean David Saunders with a cheque for $3,474 to support the Centre on behalf of their Class during their convocation reception May 26th.

“The Queen’s MBA provided us with the tools to be leaders in effective, innovative and entrepreneurial business ideologies. The opportunity to give back to our School not only enhances our brand but is authentic to this lesson. The work the Centre for Responsible Leadership does for our future business partners and competitors makes it a hands down worthwhile fund to support” said Carter.

“Queen’s School of Business taught us that whether you are a leader in a business unit or the CEO driving the vision for the entire organization, understanding corporate social responsibility ideologies and strategies will do more to maximize both economic and social value and contribute more towards your organization’s sustainability than was ever realized in previous years. Promoting further research in this area can only benefit new students and alumni and foster innovative ideas and constructive debates in an area of business management so often underachieved or misrepresented” Carter and LaRochelle elaborated.

Traditionally, EMBA graduating classes have come together to raise money to support Queen’s University and future students though a class gift. Last year’s graduating EMBA class also designated their class gift to QSB’s Centre for Responsible Leadership.  We thank both of these classes for their support!
