Connect with Free Student Services

Local businesses, not-for-profits and social enterprises can tap into the expertise, and skills of Smith School of Business students. Participating students come from across the scope of Smith business programs from undergraduate to professional masters and graduate level research programs, and bring a diverse range of skills and experience. Services could include: research, strategic planning, building a digital presence, web site development, sales and marketing, e-commerce, how to innovate and pivot, design thinking, writing government grant applications, and more.

To access the student support, organizations can register for free at Applied Work Experience or contact the business school’s Centre for Social Impact at Once the organization provides some basic information on its needs, a student consultant supported by faculty will confirm and match the organization to appropriate students and teams to assist.

About the Centre for Social Impact

The Kingston Region Business Support Network project was initiated by the Centre for Social Impact at Smith School of Business. The Centre’s mission is to educate students and foster outreach and advocacy on issues of social impact. It does this by supporting education in the fields of responsible leadership and social impact; supporting research and sharing insights; providing support for communities; and being a global advocate on issues of responsible leadership and social impact.

As part of its activities, the Centre offers the Certificate in Social Impact which Smith business students can earn as part of the undergraduate or graduate degree program.
