In this course we analyze business situations from the perspective of a general manager with overall responsibility for the firm, or for a business unit within the firm. Central to the course is the fact that – in most business situations - the firm evolves in a competitive environment where the manager’s actions affect, and are affected by, the actions of rivals. This has a fundamental impact on the way we make optimal decisions. This course provides a conceptual framework and a set of simple “tools” from applied game theory that are very useful for understanding a wide array of practical challenges facing the general manager in this type of competitive environment.

This course is restricted to students enrolled in the 3rd or 4th year of their program.
