The Centre for Social Impact invites you to our November Speaker Series event: 'Global Platforms Creating Global Impact' on November 12th from 12:00 pm-1:00 pm. The event will feature a panel discussion with Smith School of Business Alum, Norman Musengimana, MMIE'18, and Rizma Butt, MMIE'18. This panel will be followed by keynote, Hayley Mundeva, Co-founder and CEO of ThriveHire.

How Exposure to Social Impact Sparked an Opportunity in Sustainable Fashion

For students in the Accelerated MBA (AMBA) program at the Smith School of Business, the Certificate in Social Impact offers education, exposure, and experience in the world of social impact, enterprise, and innovation. For AMBA 2019 graduate, Luan Tolosa, the Certificate was also a catalyst for the ideation and successful launch of her social enterprise, SEWT – Suits Especially for Women Tailored.

Get Comfortable with Being Uncomfortable: Taleen Haneshian on How Volunteering in Armenia Shifted her Perspective

Taleen Haneshian, a recent graduate of the Smith School of Business Accelerated MBA (2019) and Certificate in Social Impact, was encouraged by her experiences at Smith to continue dedicating her time to giving back. Following graduation, Taleen took on a new challenge and spent time volunteering in Armenia for an organization called FAST (Foundation for Armenians in Science and Technology). In this blog, Taleen shares her experience of how volunteering abroad gave her new perspective on stepping outside of her comfort zone.
