Commerce’64 Fellow of Managerial Economics
“I am honoured to be the recipient of the Commerce’64 Fellowship of Managerial
Economics, and grateful for the support it has provided me in my research
in business economics. This research explores such issues as the interaction
between competition in the product market and innovation in organizations.
A key ingredient to higher incomes and increases in the standard of living is
innovation and associated productivity gains, areas where Canada has lagged
in recent years. This research is of interest to policymakers, who seek to raise
the standards of living of their constituents; and to business leaders, who try
to adapt to ever-intensifying global competition. It is also of interest to my
MBA students, the business leaders of tomorrow. I am very excited about this
research, and grateful for the Commerce’64 Fellowship that has enabled me to
explore this important topic
